Brenda Lea Reese

Brenda Lea Reese, age 61, passed on Sunday November 5, 2023, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.

Funeral services for Brenda are scheduled for Saturday November 11, 2023, at 4:00 P.M. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. A visitation for family and friends is also scheduled on November 11 from 3:00 - 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family. Brenda was born November 7, 1961, in Clarion, Iowa to parents Marvin and Maridean (Alsvig) Baker. She graduated from Marshalltown High School and then went on to hold various secretarial positions. She worked for JBS for many years followed by Eye Care Associates, where she thoroughly enjoyed working at. Brenda was married to Edward Reese and from this marriage, four children were born. Brenda was very fashionable, and she loved gardening, baking, crocheting and reading. She also enjoyed decorating for the holidays, and even kept her tree up year-round. More than anything, she loved spending time with family and watching her grandchildren’s sporting events.

She is survived by her children: Jason Reese of State Center, Justin (Ariel) Reese of Marshalltown, Jennifer (Jeff) Mahoney of Marshalltown, and Jamie Reese of Des Moines, grandchildren: Parker, Preston, Piercen, Paxson, Paycen, Izriel, Zelda, Fiby, Brayden, Zachary, Taylor, and Morgan, her brothers: Mark Baker of Kansas City and Cory Baker of Marshalltown, niece: Brittany Gould and nephew: Michael Baker also of Kansas City.

Brenda is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
