Brent Casper, 61, of Newton, Iowa, passed away on November 25, 2016, in the comfort of his own home. Memorial services for Brent will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2016, at St. Johns United Church of Christ with Pastor Judy Brandon. Public visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Brent will be laid to rest at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed in Brents name to his family. Brent Charles Casper was born on October 26, 1955, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Harold Wayne and Elaine (Klingbeil) Casper. He was raised and educated in the Marshall County School district, graduating from West Marshall High School in 1974. Brent was united in marriage to Kristi Ann (Miller) Hassler but the two later divorced. From this union they had one daughter, Leah. Brent was a very hard working man, devoting his working years on the Chicago Northwetern Railroad, as a miner in Leadville, Co. He most recently retiring from Maytag in 2007. He had a passion for concerts of all kinds especially classic rock, spending time with his daughter and grandkids, and also visiting Montana and Colorado. Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Leah Casper; grandchildren, Dinah Ruth McDaniel and Naomi Gillet McDaniel; one brother, Mark (Phyllis) Casper; two sisters, Lori (Ron) Liston, Anita Casper (Jerald Miller) and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold Wayne Casper and Elaine (Klingbiel) Casper.
