Brian Cecil Ramsdell, (74), of Toledo, Iowa, passed away on October 13, 2015, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16th, 2015, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, from 5:00 until 7:00 pm, with a vigil service at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 17th, 2015 at St. Marys Catholic Church at 12:00 pm. Memorials may be directed to the family to be designated at a later date. Brian Ramsdell was born to Cecil Ramsdell and Elinor Boyer, on January 8th, 1941, in Richmond, Indiana. The family later relocated to Iowa. He was raised and educated at the Toledo high school, graduating with the class of 1959. Brian attended college at the University of Iowa and later, at the University of Illinois. On October 17, 1964, Anne Marie McLaughlin and Brian Ramsdell were united in marriage at St. Marys Catholic Church in Marshalltown. The family eventually settled in Bismarck, North Dakota to raise their children. Brian was an employee of Sherwin Williams for 25 years, and also worked for Valspar Paint from 1981 until his retirement in 1991. After moving to Toledo in 2001, Brian was employed at Pilgrim Heights. He was an active scout dad for his children while they were growing up and loved square dancing with Bells and Beaux square dancing club, Bismarck, North Dakota, and the Central Iowa Squares & Round Dance Club in Marshalltown, Iowa. He also enjoyed gardening and caring for his flowers. Left to cherish his memory is his wife; Anne Ramsdell, children; Mindy (Greg) McDonald of Becker, MN, Tammy Link of Bismarck, ND, Mike Ramsdell of Minneapolis, MN, Kris (Bryan) Maurstad of New Folden, MN, Rob (Kari) Ramsdell of Bismarck, ND, grandchildren; Mikayla and Marley McDonald, Austin and Kaitlyn Link, Amber, Adam and Alex Maurstad, and Chandler and Carley Ramsdell. In death, he rejoins his parents; Cecil and Elinor Ramsdell, brother; Gary Ramsdell.
