Brian David Whaley, 46, of Marshalltown, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2015 at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. Memorial services for Brian will be held on Friday, May 29, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Marshalltown with inurnment following at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens also in Marshalltown. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Brian and his family. Brian Whaley was born on May 7, 1969 in Marshalltown to David and Linda Whaley. Brian graduated from Marshalltown High School with the class of 1988. Brian had previously worked for Hormel/Excel in Ankeny, Osceola, Dayton, Ohio and Toledo, Ohio. Brian had spent the past 5 years working for Healthcare Services Group as a District Manager overseeing eleven nursing homes regarding their maintenance facilities while living in Cedar Rapids and Marshalltown. Brian liked auto racing and golfing. Brian was one of the most compassionate people you could meet. He would put others needs before himself and was just an overall good person and loved life. Most importantly, Brian treasured the time he got to spend with his daughter, Adisyn Shae. Brians life will live on as he was a tissue donor. Left to cherish Brians memory is his daughter: Adisyn Whaley of Cedar Rapids. Parents: David and Linda Whaley of Marshalltown. Brother: Chad (Amanda) Whaley of West Branch and their children Lauren and Matthew. Aunts and Uncles: Philip and Alice Grabenbauer of Marshalltown, Ron and Sue Meyer of Lincoln, Illinois and Bob and Kathy Dostal of Mountain Home, Arkansas as well as several cousins. Brian is preceded in death by his grandparents: Clarence and Wanda Whaley and Willard and Velma Moler.
