Brittany Barajas

The beautiful soul of Brittany M. Barajas, 31, of Gilman, formerly of Marshalltown, has left this earth far too soon after her passing on Wednesday, November 10, 2021. Services for Brittany will take place on Saturday, November 27 at 10:00 A.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Friends and family are also invited to attend a visitation on Friday, November 26 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com or call 641-844-1234. Born Brittany Marie Smith on November 19, 1989 in Marshalltown, she was the daughter of Craig Smith and Theresa Dailey. Brittany grew up in the Marshalltown area and attended school at East Marshall before going on to cosmetology school. After meeting the love of her life, Francisco “Cisco” Barajas, they were united in marriage on March 5, 2014 in Marshalltown. A loving and dedicated wife and mother, Brittany loved her family more than anything else. Their five children brought her true joy and purpose. She especially enjoyed watching them in all of their sporting events. Brittany had a strong work ethic and was studying to be a pharmacy technician. Creative and artistic, Brittany had an eye for beautiful things. She loved doing makeup, but her true beauty came from her soul.  She always put everyone else before herself and she will be deeply missed by all those who knew her. Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband, Cisco; their five children: Skyla Barajas, Lukka Barajas, Camryn Murphy, Dallas Murphy and Adamari Barajas; her parents: Craig and Shari Smith of Abilene, KS and T.J. Dailey of Tama; siblings: Alex (Krystal) Gangemi of Walden, NY, Austin Smith of Bondurant and Colton and Alia Smith of Abilene, KS; mother-in-law Maria Barajas and brother-in-law Xavier Barajas, along with her grandparents, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and several other relatives. Brittany is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Gary Smith.
