Bruce Gowdy

Bruce Calvin Gowdy, age 65, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at the Iowa River Hospice House.

As per his wishes and his family, cremation rites will be accorded. No formal services have been scheduled at this time. Memorials may be directed to the family for a later designation. Bruce Calvin Gowdy was born on July 17, 1959 in Marshalltown, Iowa. He was the son of Robert Keith and Shirley (Moar) Gowdy. Bruce attended the West Marshall School District and right after graduation he joined the work force. His life was dedicated to being on the road as a truck driver. In 1993, Bruce married Kim (Groth) Gowdy in Marshalltown, Iowa and they both made their home in Melbourne. The two later divorced. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening, yardwork, and refinishing both woodwork and mechanical work.

He is survived by his son Evan Keith Gowdy of Colorado, his stepchildren; Jeff Owens, Alex Wolgamott and Will Wolgamott, and his siblings; Mike (Jeanne) of Marshalltown, Phil (Jane) of Ankeny, and Kent Gowdy of Red Oak.

Bruce is preceded in death by his grandparents Calvin and Perletta Moar, his father Keith Gowdy his mother, Shirley Gowdy, his brother Greg Gowdy, his sister Nancy Browning and his stepfather Armon Adams.
