Bruce Alan Oleson was born on January 26, 1958 in Newton, Iowa to Carol J and Dale G Oleson. He grew up in a loving family, was active and strong-willed. He started playing baseball as a youngster and soon became a talented pitcher on the Newton High School (NHS) team. Bruce loved to travel to natural spaces, and would often hop trains to get to his destinations. He was a proficient handyman who designed and built his own home. He was a lucky gambler from a young age, and continued winning through his life.
While Bruce was often quiet and enjoyed time alone, he was quick witted and loved to crack a joke with perfect comedic timing. Bruce loved living on his land, and being as one with the nature that surrounded him. One of his favorite ways to start the morning was hand-feeding a baby fawn carrots. His cats and raccoons were spoiled and loved fully. He enjoyed reading a good book or listening to his beloved Cubbies (Cubs) on the radio.
Bruce died of a heart attack at the age of 67, in his home. He is deeply missed by friends and family alike.
