The second of seven children, Bruce Gregory Picard was born February 15, 1938 in the Brooklyn neighborhood of New York, New York. His parents were Robert Picard and Muriel Ann Heineman. He left school early and joined the United States Army as a very young man, which then became his life career. Bruce had three children, Michelle, Suzanne, and Alexandra Stefanie, who were all an important part of his life. Outside of the service, Bruce had his life companion, Susan “Sue” Jackson. Together they were both active members of the State Center Community.

Even well into his last years, Bruce very much enjoyed golfing and bowling. He spent as much time as he could with his family. He was known to be heartfelt with everything he said, selfless towards others, forthright, and honest. He worked tirelessly and took his responsibilities seriously so you could always depend and trust him for what his word meant.

He is survived by his daughters Michelle Picard, Suzanne Picard (Mark Villegas) and Alexandra Stefanie Picard (Wayne Smith); his sister Maryann Sims, his grandchildren Alexander, Amad, and Piper Picard; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his partner Susan Jackson and his brother Robert Picard.
