The Mitchell Family Funeral Home West Marshall Chapel in State Center is caring for Bruce and his family. Ph. 641-483-2900. Born on January 12, 1954, in Marshalltown, he was the son of Blair and Elaine (Davis) Robins. He graduated from the West Marshall High School and began truck-driving. Bruce then fell in love with farming- the place he said he wanted to die, and with Gods blessings he was able to do so. He loved nature, the prairie and farming the land as well as raising animals. Even though he could be opinionated or as his sisters say, stubborn, he had a very compassionate and generous side as well. Bruce stated that one in eight people get cancer, and he was glad it was him so cancer would leave the rest of his family alone! He was a man of his word and did whatever it took to fulfill his promises. In years past, Bruce enjoyed his Triumph motorcycles. Especially in recent times, faith became very important to him, as he was going to receive his fountain of youth from God. Bruce was a baptized and confirmed member of St. John Lutheran Church. Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Elaine Robins of Clemons; his five sisters: Jeanette (David) Helland of St. Louis; Jeanine Worl of Chandler, AZ; Jeanelle Sidwell of Phoenix, AZ; Jeanice Arment of Marshalltown and Jeananne Wolfe of Clemons, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. In eternal life, he rejoined his dad, Blair, and his grandparents. Bruces family also found many treasures in people at this time- those who made his final days blessed. So many people gave of themselves and will not be forgotten- so thank you to Pastor Klinge and Pastor Spratt as well as Lee and Mary Tollefson, Dave and Wendy Harrison, Dave Schmidt, Dan and Brian Freiberg, Bill Pfantz, Chance Flynn, Ivan Walker, Ray Helland, Allen Armbrecht, Art Duncon, Pat Byers as well as many others that because of emotions dont come to mind. Also special thank you to Iowa River Hospice for their dedication in caring for Bruce. All of you are precious to Bruces memory.
