Bryan Eugene Brekke, born on January 3, 1961, in Hampton, Iowa, to Robert Eugene and Janice Marie (Feuring) Brekke, passed away unexpectedly on December 22, 2024 and leaving behind a legacy of hard work and creativity. Most Recently residing in Albion and Marshalltown, Iowa. Bryan was known for his remarkable ability to fix anything that came his way, embodying the spirit of a true handyman.
As a talented carpenter and mechanic, Bryan dedicated his life to his craft, always working on projects that showcased his skills and passion. He was a man of many hobbies and he found joy in playing pool, rides on his Harley Davidson Motorcycle, fishing, boating, water skiing and working in his garden. Bryan liked to say he was a Jack of all trades, master of none, reflecting his diverse interests and talents.
Bryan is survived by his children: Justin Brekke, Amanda Brekke, Naomi Doran and Mindy Krull, along with sons-in-law, Scott Doran and Matt Krull. He was a proud grandfather to Chase Brekke, Jayde Stansberry, Blaze Krull, Saige Frost, Blake Krull, Ayden Garrett, Grace Frost and Dayne Garrett. He also leaves behind great-grandchildren who will carry on his spirit. In addition to his children and grandchildren, Bryan is survived by his sister, Brenda Brekke and numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, a niece. Cousins and many friends who cherished his vibrant personality and dedication to those he loved. He is also survived by special friends, Leandra Latimer and Trace Minteer (whom he lovingly referred to as little man.)
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, his parents, Robert and Janice Brekke, and his brother, Brett Brekke.
Services for Bryan will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025 beginning at 5:00 P.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home and signifying the celebration of his 64th birthday. A visitation for family and friends will be held one-hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bryan’s name may be directed to his family for a later designation.
