Bryan Clemons

Bryan Clemons, 43, of Marshalltown, died Tuesday, May 17, at the MMSC.Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, at the Clemons Cemetery in Clemons with Pastor Keith McDonald of the State Center Presbyterian Church officiating. Born on December 28, 1967, at the St. Thomas Hospital in Marshalltown, he was the son of Thomas and Jean (Barnard) Clemons. He graduated from the Marshalltown High Schools Class of 1986. In December of 1985, at the age of 17 and months before graduation, Bryan followed his passion to be in the U.S. Marines Corps and enlisted in the reserves. After graduation, his reserve unit was activated. He served our country honorably in Desert Shield and Desert Storm and a total of eight years active and reserve.Bryan was employed from 1989 to 1994 at Per-Mar Security in Ames for the D.O.T. Complex and later in Des Moines. In 1994, he began work at Lennox Industries. Bryan had attended one-year at ISU in Forestry and was a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Harry C. Harter Post #839. He loved the outdoors. Left to cherish his memory are his parents Tom and Jean Clemons of Marshalltown, his sister Shelly (Bruce) Carlson of Marshalltown and brother Jon Clemons of Marshalltown and his grandma, Thelma Clemons of Marshalltown. In death, he rejoined his younger brother Jared who died in 2008, grandparents Gib and Charlotte Barnard and grandpa Rex Wayne Clemons.
