Burton Shattuck

Burton Eugene Shattuck, 63, of Ferguson, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Memorial services for Burt will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to the family. Burt was born on June 30, 1951 to Robert and Esther Schmidt Shattuck in Marshall County. On June 13, 1987, Burt was united in marriage to Cindy Nauman at First United Methodist Church in Marshalltown. Burt and Cindy have called Ferguson home for the last 12 years. Burt was a retired factory worker since 2013 and currently a volunteer firefighter for the town of Ferguson. Burt was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, camping and tinkering in the yard. Burt also enjoyed watching Duck Dynasty and Swamp People. Above everything else; Burt enjoyed the time he was able to spend with his grandchildren. Burt is survived by his wife of 27 years, Cindy. Children: Kyle Dvorak of Marshalltown, Lisa Nauman of Marshalltown, Jason Nauman of Marshalltown and Burton (Mickenzie) Jr. of Ferguson. Grandchildren: Madison, Cole, Jayden, Tayte, Cyrus, Nathan, Harper, Eden and Jeremy and his siblings: Barb (Bob), Beth, Jackie (Danny) and Dena (Andy) as well as several nieces, nephews and other family members. Burt is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Esther, sister Ellen Ann and brother Bobby Shattuck.
