Byron Eugene Kerr, 46, of Marshalltown, died Thursday, March 27th, at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 31st, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. There will be no visitation. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. A memorial fund is being established. Born on March 16th, 1962, in Marshalltown, he was the son of Ross Byron and Hazel (Goecke) Kerr. He graduated from the LDF High School in 1980 and attended the Marshalltown Community College. He has resided in Marshalltown all of his life where he was employed at Lennox and Marshall Print. He enjoyed playing Shang Hai, 500, and Pepper with family and friends and tinkering with and fixing tractors - especially Farmall. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Hazel; siblings Kevin ( Robin) Kerr) of North Platte, NE, Owen (Deb) Kerr of Gilman, Heidi (David) Van Ersvelde of Grinnell, and Amy (Aaron) Passick of Ankeny; nieces and nephews John and Kathleen Kerr, Phillip, Paul, and Laura Kerr, and Alex Passick, his aunts and uncles, Sheryll (Bruce) Powers, Margaret Goecke, Craig (Phyllis) Kerr, and Phyllis Kerr, as well as several cousins and a host of friends. In death, he has rejoined his father as well as his grandparents.
