Calvin W. Moffett, 83, of Montour, died Wednesday, January 28, 2009, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center. Friends may call on Monday, February 2nd, 2009, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Private family interment services will be held on Tuesday at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Montour. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association. He was the son of Murry and Elva (Slinghuff) Moffett. He attended country school and Montour High School. Calvin was a farmer and raised cattle and hogs. He was a member of Eagles Lodge and the Montour Church. He loved his animals and fishing.He is survived by his daughter, Sheila (Clifford) Hill of Frisco, TX; two granddaughters, Jackie (Scott) Collis of Frisco, TX, and Dena (Andy) Boedeker of Frisco, TX; his five great-grandchildren; and his sister, Maureen Moffett of Marshalltown.In death, he has rejoined his parents, two brothers, and one sister.
