Carla Jo Brimson

Carla Jo Brimson, age 67, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023 at Unity Point Health.

Per her wishes and her family, cremation rites have been accorded under the care of the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. A family led Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday November 4, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at the VFW Post 839 located at 107 E. Meadow Ln, Marshalltown, IA. Memorials may be directed to the family. Carla was born January 9, 1956 in Des Moines, Iowa. She was the daughter of Raphael “Bud” Krier and Janie (Barnhill) Krier. Carla went on to graduate high school from BCL – UW and later worked as a waitress and a house keeper for the Ramada Inn. She also worked for KFC till her retirement. She loved bowling and playing poker with her family. Her family was very important to her.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Mr. Roger Dirks, children: Brandy Brimson of Pleasant Hill, Brian Brimson of Reinbeck, Monica Dirks of Marshalltown, Chris (Brittani) Dirks of Marshalltown, and Amanda (Travis) Bloomquist of Marshalltown, grandchildren: Bethany, Nevaeh, Brian Jr., Biancah, Julio, Yuliana, Ernesto, Kelly, Alric, and Locke, great-grandchild: Blayne, siblings: Peggy (Roger) Lowe of Des Moines, Kevin Krier of Marshalltown, Keith (Angie) Krier of Green Mountain, Kyle Krier of Prairie City, Ken (Andrea) Krier of Altoona, sister-in-law: Pam Krier of Des Moines and many nieces and nephews.

Carla is preceded in death by her parents: Raphael and Janie Krier, sisters: Pat Prosser, Phyliss Troutner and Pammie Krier, brothers: Richard Krier and Dudley Krier, daughter: Becky Brimson, granddaughter: Becca Jo Brimson, niece: Jana Perry and nephew: Nathan Krier.
