Carlene Dee Schossow Jones Diemer, 72, of Knoxville passed away on Monday, October 20, 2014 at Bright Kavanagh House in Des Moines surrounded by her loved ones. Funeral services for Carlene will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown with a graveside service at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Iowa Falls at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. also at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Carlene and her family. Carlene Schossow was born on June 3, 1942 in Fonda, Iowa to Ray Alvin and Pearl Erma Nyreen Schossow. Carlene married Wayne Jones on September 20, 1958 and to this union two girls were born: Dee Ann and Shelly. Carlenes marriage to Wayne ended in 1984 and she later married Alfred Leo Fritz Diemer on April 26, 1985 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Alfred passed away in July of 1999. Carlene loved to travel and went to Texas during the winter. She also liked to do woodworking, go fishing and camping, crafts, loved cats and was a member of the Eagles and the Moose. Wayne and Carlene also taught dance lessons at Marshalltown Community College. Left to cherish Carlenes memory is her children: Dee Ann (Nick Boelman) Hon of Beaman and Shelly (Fred) Nadler of State Center. Grandchildren: Jennifer (Kelly) Wilson, Nicole Nadler and Cody Nadler. Great grandchildren: Kristina Ryun and Madeline Wilson and her brother Garland Schossow as well as many nieces and nephews. Carlene is preceded in death by her parents, husbands: Wayne and Alfred and a brother Doyal Schossow.
