Carlos Taylor, 87, of Marshalltown, passed away Sunday morning, September 12th, at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 16th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Daniel Johnson of the Redeemer Lutheran Church officiating. His friends and contemporaries from the American Legion will provide his last rites in military honors. Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. Ph 641-844-1234. He was born on October 23rd, 1922, at Ames, Iowa, and has lived in Marshalltown since 1967. Carlos retired from Fisher Controls in 1985.Mr. Taylor was a WWII Veteran and was an active member of the American Legion Post #46 and the Redeemer Lutheran Church. Left to cherish his memory are Lillian (Christiansen), his loving wife whom he married in 1941, sons Robert of Council Bluffs, Bill (Kathy) of Overland Park, KS., and Bruce (Melissa) of Toledo, IA, seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many friends. In death he rejoined his parents, four brothers and a grandson John.
