Carol June Lunde

Carol Lunde, 76, of Garwin, Iowa, passed away early morning, Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at the Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center in Marshalltown, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 7, 2014, at the funeral home in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to the family to be designated at a later date. Carol June Lannigan was born on June 18, 1937, in Marshalltown, Iowa. She was the daughter of Thomas and Mary (Opperman) Lannigan. Carol attended school in the Marshalltown Community High District and graduated with the class of 1955 then went on to State Teachers College (UNI). On September 15, 1962, Carol was united in marriage to Peter C. Lunde at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Marshalltown. She and Peter lived in Garwin, Iowa. She worked at Fisher Controls, Double LL Bar and Farmers Savings Bank. Carols life revolved around her family, husband, children and grandchildren the most important things in her life. She also enjoyed her flowers, especially her hostas (weed free), and loved to sew. She could also mend and fix anything and remove stains with her magic water. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 51 years, Peter, of Garwin, Iowa. Children: Kelli (Steven) Hall of Marshalltown, Iowa; Randy ( Debbie) Lunde of Gladbrook, Iowa. Grandchildren: Kyle (Deena) Hall of Marshalltown; Kaitlin (Darin) Tool of New Providence, Iowa; Kenan Hall of Marshalltown, Iowa; step-grandchildren: Stacy Gudahl of Grundy Center, and Shannon (Brad) Dennler of Grundy Center. Great-grandchildren: Macie and Brynnlee; Step great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Hannah. Siblings: Beverly Caputo of Conrad, and Don Lannigan of Linclon, Nebraska. In death, Carol rejoins her parents, Thomas and Mary; sister, Marilyn Landt; brother-in- law, Jerry Caputo; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Lannigan.
