Carol Jean Wright

Carol Jean Wright, 81, of Marshalltown, died Saturday evening, February 24th, at her granddaughters home while in care of the Iowa Hospice. Her death came peacefully at 6:20 p.m. with her family at her side. A time of fellowship celebrating her life will be held from 2-4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 4th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Born Carol Jean Bodkin on March 13th, 1925, in Nebraska, she was the daughter of William and Bess M. Bodkin. In 1942, she was united in marriage to William J. Curley. He preceded her in death as did her second husband, Raymond Wright whom she married in 1954. Mrs. Wright was employed at Cooper Manufacturing; Strands Bakery and did bartending in the Marshalltown community for many years. Following the death of her mother, Bess Schaffer, she moved to Osage Beach, Missouri until returning to Marshalltown to make her home with her son, William J. and Kitty Curley. Left to mourn her loss are her son, William J. (Kitty) Curley of Marshalltown, daughter Sherlyene Horton of Osage Beach, MO. Son Terance Wright of Lubbock, TX., seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren as well as a host of friends. In death she has rejoined her parents, grandson TJ, and sisters Christina Mae and Eva Maxine.
