Born Carolyn Deann Wallace on May 25th, 1961, in Marshalltown, she was the daughter of James and Phyllis (Low) Wallace. She attended Marshalltown school’s graduating from the Marshalltown High School: Class of 1979. Carolyn worked at Marshalltown Instruments, KIOWA and the Marshalltown Community College, this before she started her hardest and most rewarding job of stay-at-home mom. She treasured her growing family, pets, and time in her yard. Anyone that knew Carolyn knew she had the greenest, softest, thickest putting lawn in the County. On September 28th, 1983, she married the love of her life Scott Allen Adkins, and they were blessed with three sons- Josh, Jeremy and Jesse. Carolyn never lost hope in her boys, even through their wild and crazy years. When we say wild and crazy that is an understatement. She lived next to the police scanner every night worried sick. Even through her sleepless nights she was always there to help her boys. Her continued commitment to all three boys led them on their path to success that Carolyn was so very proud of. Left to cherish her memory are her sons: Josh (Angie) Adkins, Jeremy (Felecity) Adkins and Jesse (Brooke) Adkins; ten grandchildren- Emri, Ezra, Evan, Kylie, Keygan, Kage, Kaden, Kacin, Kota and Kole, and newest great-grandbaby Birdy; siblings- Brenda Lukehart, Patty (Bryon) Bessman and Mike Wallace as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, her faithful dogs Mya and Max, and cats Willow and Wittiss. In death, she was rejoined with her love Scott, who passed away March 16th, 2021, and her parents Jim and Phyllis.
