Carroll Clarence Day

Carroll Clarence Day, 82, of Gladbrook, passed away at his home on Tuesday, December 12, 2023.

A Celebration of Life for Carroll will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, IA. Family will be working on planning a burial and larger celebration of life in Northwood, IA in the Springtime. Memorials may be directed to the family. Carroll Day was born on July 5, 1941 in Mason City, Iowa and raised in Buffalo Center. He was the son to Carroll and Arline Day. He was united in marriage to first wife, Gloria and later remarried to Patti. Carroll had worked and retired from the city of Northwood, Iowa as a city worker. In his younger years, he worked on the family farm. Carroll was very passionate with his faith and association with The Shepherd’s Chapel with Pastor Murray. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, reading the bible and good movies, especially Westerns.

Carroll enjoyed being around his family and friends most of all. Carroll was the kindest most selfless and genuine man. He lit up the room with his smile and gave the best hugs. He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.

Carroll is survived by his children: Scott (Tonya) Day of New York, Cindy (Todd) Bird of Gladbrook and Cory (Cindy) Day of Austin, Minnesota. Grandchildren: Hali Daters (Brian), Cobren Bird and Olivia Day. Great-Grandchildren: Braelyn, Kaidre and Dax. He is also survived by siblings: Deb (A.J.) Abplanalp, Sue (Larry) Bloechl and Greg (Deb) Day along with many nieces and nephews.

Carroll is preceded in death by his siblings: Darroll and Paul Day; parents: Carroll Sr. and Arline and his first wife: Gloria.
