Mr. Caryl Kuhlman of State Center, Iowa, entered into eternal life on Saturday, December 8, 2007, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 12th, at the St. John Lutheran Church north of State Center with burial following at Saint John Cemetery. Caryl Wayne Kuhlman was born on September 30, 1930, at New Providence, Iowa, to George and Sadie (Thake) Kuhlman. He was a life-long member of Saint John Lutheran Church in rural State Center, having served in many offices. He attended parochial school and then graduated from State Center High School in 1948. Caryl began farming northwest of State Center at the age of 14 when his father died. Caryl was married to Myrtis Drevs on June 27, 1959 in Moville, Iowa. Caryl is survived by his wife, Myrtis, sisters Lornetta (Lou) Nolta and Sharon (Lowell) Kasischke, sister-in-law Lydia Kuhlman, and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother, Clair Kuhlman, and a sister, Arlene Hoing.
