Cecil Hutcheson, 81, of Marshalltown, died Thursday evening, March 3, at the Iowa River Hospice Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 9th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Full military honors will be conducted by the United States Air Force Offutt AFB at Omaha. Born on January 11th, 1930, in Tama County, Iowa, he was the son of Raymond and Millie Fern (Bridges) Hutcheson. He attended school in the Minerva Valley area of Marshall County and then the Marshalltown High School.Cecil served our country honorably in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. After returning to his hometown, he was employed as an airplane mechanic at Niederhauser Field, did semi driving and worked at the railroad. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW, ABATE, Harley Owners Group (HOG) and formerly the Moose Lodge. Cecil enjoyed his family, motorcycles especially Harley-Davidson, fishing, having money in his pocket, having a special place in his heart for animals and being tender-hearted. Left to cherish his memory are Charlotte, his loving wife of 60 years, whom he married on Christmas Day of 1950, his children: Kenny (Janet) Hutcheson of Indianola, Vickie (Dean) Schafer of Marshalltown, Debbie Johnson of Marshalltown, and K.C. (Tempest) Hutcheson of Indianola, nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, his brothers Jim (Ellen) of Albion, Ronald (JoAnne) of Marshalltown, Donald (Patsy) of Ft. Collins, CO, and sister-in-law Barbara Hutcheson of Waterloo as well as many nieces, nephews, his girls Holly the Dachshund and Jazzy the miniature Schnauzer and many friends. In death, Cecil rejoined his parents, grandson Casey and brother Robert.
