Charles Bice, 85, of the Grandview Heights, died there late Monday night, September 1st. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 5th, at the Lane Chapel of the Riverside Cemetery. Entombment will follow in the Riverside Mausoleum. Born on May 3rd, 1929, in Camp Dodge, Iowa, he was the youngest of 17 children born to Paul and Margaret Bice. He attended school in Camp Dodge, Boone and Des Moines. In 1964, he moved to Marshalltown to live with his sister and brother-in-law Marjorie and Jess Martelli. Charles worked at Lennox and retired from there. Charles thoroughly enjoyed watching sports, especially professional wrestling, playing bingo, going to Meskwaki, bowling and had a deep faith. Religion was very important to him. Surviving are his son Danny, daughter Ellen Giles, grandson Mark, and several nieces and nephews as well as sisters Helen Striker, Fern Michaels and brother Clyde. In death he rejoined his son Paul, his parents and 13 siblings.
