Charles E. Dittmer, 79, of Ankeny, died early Sunday morning, September 9th, at the Iowa Veterans Home where he has resided since July.Cremation rites have been held. There will be no local services. And served our country proudly in the United States Coast Guard from 1945-1946. Mr. Dittmer was of the Catholic Faith. Left to mourn his loss is his sister Viola Smith of Ankeny and brother Clarence Dittmer of Jackson, Missouri as well as nieces, nephews and his IVH family. In death he has rejoined his parents.
