Charles Eich, age 81, of Marshalltown, passed away Thursday night, October 19th, at the Unitypoint Health Marshalltown.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 24th, at the Faith Assembly of God in Marshalltown with Pastor Dave Martin officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Riverside Cemetery with full military honors by the combined VFW and American Legion Honor Guard in the Marshalltown area. Born on June 9th, 1942, in Marshalltown, he was the son of George and Elva Eich. He graduated from the St. Mary High School in 1960 and soon enlisted in the United States Army, serving in the guard.
On April 11th, 1981, he was united in marriage to Georgia Merkel in Marshalltown. Marshalltown was always home where he was employed at Fisher Controls for 39 years until retiring.
Mr. Eich was a member of the Faith Assembly of God and enjoyed fishing, hunting, trips to Wyoming, the outdoors and collecting coins.
Left to cherish his memory are his children- Jaymie Underkofler, Andy (Melissa) Eich and Serena (Mark) Benda, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two sisters- Marsha Senn and Mary Jane Eich as well as many other family and friends.
In death, Charles reunited with his wife, Georgia, parents, son-in-law Tom Underkofler, grandson Westley Underkofler and brother, George “Bud” Eich.
