Charles “Chuck” Elliott, 87, of Liscomb, passed away Thursday morning, February 10, 2022, at the Oakview Nursing Home in Conrad. To honor his and his family’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and the public is invited to his Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 14th at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Private family burial will be in the Liscomb Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to Chuck’s family for a later designation. Charles Edwin Elliott was born on May 3, 1934 in Marshalltown the son of Carl and Ada (Gorsuch) Elliott. He grew up in the Liscomb area and graduated from the Liscomb High School in 1952. He was quite an athlete as a young man, playing baseball and basketball in high school. On June 26, 1954, he was united in marriage to Margie Grace Mears. Together they had two daughters, Jodean and Leeann. Chuck had worked at the Liscomb Grain Elevator for thirty-seven years before retiring in 1996. While not at work, he and Margie enjoyed providing musical entertainment at the Oakview Nursing Home, the Marshall County Home and numerous other care facilities in the Marshalltown area. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Chuck was a faithful and devoted member of the Whitten Community Church. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of sixty-eight years, Margie; his daughter, Leeann (Scott) Miller; four grandchildren: Erin and Tully Beeghly and Ryan and Jeff Miller and sieven great grandchildren: Tessa and Henry Rose and Cassidy, Thomas, Elliott and Gavin Miller and Emma Beeghly. In eternal life, Chuck joins his parents; his daughter, Jodean; his sister, Vesta Marie and two brothers, Robert and Richard. Chuck’s family would like to thank the hospice staff and the staff at Oakview for their exceptional, loving care.
