Charlett Kelley, 70, of Garwin, passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.


Funeral services for Charlett will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Charlett Hickman was born on February 8, 1952 in Marshalltown to Lyle and Juanita (Uhlenberg) Hickman. She was united in marriage to Donald Grimm and to this union they had three children: Christina, David and Darren. Charlett and Donald would later divorce. Charlett had worked at Wal Mart in the deli/bakery section and had previously worked for Meskwaki Casino. She was a member of the Mid-Iowa Antique Power Association, the Moose Lodge and enjoyed bowling for 45 years, playing solitaire on her phone and watching Young and the Restless, Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune. She enjoyed going to Perkins and the Sunrise Café, with her brother Arlon and sister Kay.


Charlett is survived by her children: Christina (Scott) Duncan of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, David Grimm of Kalona and Darren Grimm of Marshalltown. Grandchildren: Ashley Farmer, Austin Grimm, Zack, Heather and Staci. Great-grandchildren: Nevaeh, Bryson, Brennon, Aspen, Emmett, Audrey and Landre. She is also survived by her siblings: Kay (Don) Baie, Arlon Hickman, Larry Hickman, Norm Hickman and Lillian Crippen.


Charlett is preceded in death by her Mother: Juanita Hickman, Father: Lyle Hickman and Brother: Norman Hickman.
