Charlotte Hutcheson

Charlotte Hutcheson, 80, of Marshalltown, died Friday, April 25th, at the Villa del Sol with family at her side. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 29th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. on Monday. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. Ph. 641-844-1234. Born Charlotte Blanton on October 7th, 1933, in Marshalltown, she was the daughter of Luther and Marie (Connley) Blanton. She received her education in the Marshalltown Public Schools. On Christmas Day of 1950, she was united in marriage to Cecil Red Hutcheson. The couple made Marshalltown their home where she worked at Marshalltown Manufacturing (later Instruments) for 30 devoted years until their transfer. She then began driving bus for the Marshalltown Public School and the City of Marshalltown. Charlotte was a devoted wife and mother who thoroughly enjoyed cooking, riding the Harley with Red and the travels that they ventured on, watching the Food Channel, camping, puzzles and her wiener dogs. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Kenny (Janet) Hutcheson of Indianola, Vickie (Dean) Schafer of Marshalltown, Debbie Johnson of Marshalltown and K.C. (Tempest) Hutcheson of Indianola, nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, her sister Juanita Smith of Portland, Oregon, sister-in-law Doris Lathrop of Portland, her in-laws Jim (Ellen) Hutcheson of Albion, Ronald (JoAnne) Hutcheson of Marshalltown, Patsy Hutcheson of Ft. Collins, CO., Barbara Hutcheson of Waterloo and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In death, she rejoined her beloved husband of 60 years-Cecil Red who died March 3, 2011, her parents, grandson Casey, her siblings- Priscilla, Thomas Bonnie, Bobby and two brothers-in-law- Robert and Donald Hutcheson.
