Charlotte Shetler, 91, of Marshalltown, died Friday, September 5th, at the MMSC. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 9th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one-hour prior to the services. Memorials may be directed to the Iowa River Church of the Brethren. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. Ph. 641-844-1234. Born Charlotte Eva Guyon on April 10th, 1923, in Marshalltown, she was the daughter of William F. and Ruth (Parker) Guyon. Charlotte graduated with the Marshalltown High Schools Class of 1942. On May 16th, 1942, she was united in marriage to Benjamin Franklin Shetler in Missouri. They made their home east of Marshalltown. Mrs. Shetler was a member of the Iowa River Church of the Brethren, the Womens Fellowship and the American Legion Axillary in Garwin. She will be fondly remembered for her handiwork, quilting, tatting and pineapple chiffon cake. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Gary (Mary Jo) Shetler, Alice (David) Meling, Sally (Dennis) Fish and Susan Pendarvis all of Marshalltown, 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law Joan Guyon in California, brother-in-law Myron Shetler of Marshalltown and many nieces and nephews. In death, she rejoined her beloved Ben who died in 2002, her son-in-law Howard Pendarvis, grandson Jeff Meling, brother Ronald Guyon, her parents and sister-in-law Beverly Shetler as well as other sisters and brothers-in-law.
