Cherryl Weig, 67, of Marshalltown, passed away on, Friday evening November 4, 2011 at the Iowa River Hospice House surrounded by her family.A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at St. Henrys Catholic Church in Marshalltown with Fr. Don Czapala officiating. Cherryl will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. With a 7:00 pm. Vigil and Rosary at Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to the family to be designated at a later date. Phone 641-844-1234Cherryl Ann Deviney was born on July 16, 1944 in Ft. Riley, Kansas, she was the daughter of Vernon and June (Wolf) Deviney. Cherryl attended school in the Hubbard School District graduating with the Hubbard class of 1962 and then she attended Business school in Omaha in 1963, after that she worked for the CIA in Washington, DC before returning to Iowa in 1964. On July 31, 1965 Cherryl was united in marriage to Jerry Weig at St. Gabriels Catholic Church in Zearing, Iowa. She had lived their entire married life in Marshalltown. Cherryl had worked in the financial industry for 30 plus years and retired from Members 1st, as a loan officer. Cherryls faith had been very important to her. She had been a member at St Henrys Catholic Church in Marshalltown. After retirement she volunteered at the Marshalltown Hospital, Gladbrook Corn Carnival, kept her hands busy helping at Mitchell Family Funeral Home, Making baby blankets for the House of Compassion, walking with friends, shopping for the perfect Christmas gift( her favorite Holiday), card club and garage sales. One of her greatest joys was being a grandmother to Isaiah, Adyn, Joscelyn and Gilbert.Left to cherish Cherryls memory is her husband of 46 years; Jerry of Marshalltown, sons; Jody John (Crystal) Weig of Marshalltown, and Jeffrey James Weig of Ames, Iowa, her precious grandchildren; Isaiah, Adyn, Joscelyn and Gilbert, a sister; Kathleen (Bud) Grimmius of Gladbrook, Iowa and a brother; Robert (Tammy) Deviney of Des Moines, IowaIn death Cherryl rejoins her parents, Vernon and Mildred (June) Deviney.
