Cheryl Faas-Bolen, age 53, of Marshalltown and formerly of Tama, Iowa, passed away on the afternoon of February 20, 2026 at Harmony of Marshalltown under the care of Iowa River Hospice Home.
Per Cheryl’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and no formal services are planned at this time. Memorials in Cheryl’s name may be directed to her family for a later designation. Cheryl Ann Faas was born December 4, 1972 in Grinnell, Iowa. She was one of three children born to Arlen and Linda (Bauman) Faas. She grew up in Brooklyn, Iowa where she attended school. Cheryl was a graduate of Brooklyn-Guernsey- Malcom High School in the Class of 1991.
Cheryl was a proud mother of two children, Bret and Britta. She raised her family and called Tama her home. She worked for Maytag in Newton for a number of years and later worked for various companies until she was no longer able to do so due to her health. She called Marshalltown home in 2023 and was able to remain close by her children. Cheryl was a member of the Lutheran Church. In her free time, she enjoyed arts and crafts which included drawing, working on various sewing projects; spending time with her grandchildren and getting to spend as much time outdoors as she was able to do.
Those left to remember and cherish her memory are her children, Bret (Irie) Bolen and Britta (Briar) Bolen; her grandchildren, Damian, Emilia and Sylas; her mother, Linda Faas; siblings, Alan (Janet) Faas and Brenda (Al) Graham alongside numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Arlen Faas and her paternal and maternal grandparents.
