Cheryl Lee Parker

Cheryl Lee (Warner) Parker, of Melbourne, Iowa, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at her home after a courageous 17-month battle with glioblastoma.

Cheryl was born on March 9, 1965, in Marshalltown, Iowa, to Commodore and Donna Warner. She graduated from Central Iowa Christian Academy in 1983 and was a faithful member of Fellowship Baptist Church.

On July 11, 1992, Cheryl was united in marriage with William “Skip” Parker. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother to her three children – Luke, Justin, and Kaytlin – who were her greatest joy. A lifelong animal lover, Cheryl provided a loving home to many rescue animals over the years.

Cheryl is survived by her husband, Skip; her son, Justin Parker of Waukee, IA; her daughter, Kaytlin Parker of Melbourne, IA; and her future son-in-law, Jacob Storjohann. She is also survived by her siblings: Jerry Wheeler and Sharon Warner, both of Marshalltown, and DeeAnna (Stergios) Serres of Ankeny, IA; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her beloved son, Luke.

Cheryl’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Iowa River Hospice, her care team at the Mayo Clinic, and Trinity Health in Newton for their compassionate care and support.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Friday, June 20, 2025 at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Marshalltown. Cheryl will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown. Memorial donations may be directed to the family for later designation.
