Cheryl Ann Ridenour

Cheryl Ann Ridenour, 76, of Marshalltown, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at UnityPoint Health-Marshalltown Hospital.

Memorial service for Cheryl will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. at the Hope United Methodist Church in Marshalltown. Visitation will start one hour prior to the service at 10:30 a.m. Memorials to the family may be directed to the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Cheryl Palaologos was born on July 30, 1948 in Marshalltown. She was the daughter of John and Helena Palaologos. Cheryl graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1966 and went on to receive her degree in Political Science at the University of Northern Iowa. On October 13, 1972, Cheryl was united in marriage to Lynn Ridenour at First United Methodist Church in Marshalltown.

Cheryl had previously worked at Wal-Mart for 25 years as the jewelry manager. She also had a calling to be the Pastor for several different churches in the area. Cheryl was also part of the caring staff at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. She enjoyed her church family, reading and tending to her plants and flowers. Cheryl and Lynn also enjoyed going antiquing.

Cheryl is survived by her husband of 52 years, Lynn. Children: Faith (Donovan) Fletcher of Eldridge, Iowa and Sharai (Mark) Koons of Missouri. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren.

Cheryl is preceded in death by her step-son: Shawn Ridenour and her parents: John and Helena.
