Chester Norman McDonough, 88, of Port Charlotte, Florida, died peacefully on Friday, October 13, 2017, in Port Charlotte. Chester was born November 27th, 1928, in Adams Township, Iowa, to the late Chester C. and Mary B. (nee Perkins) McDonough. They lived in Des Moines, Iowa, before moving to Port Charlotte, where they have resided for more than 31 years. Chester worked for the former Edison Community College in Charlotte County, until his retirement. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Ann, daughters, Beverly Ann (Spouse Scott) Lindgren, Pamela Karen (Spouse Dennis) Curtis, and Carole Jean Ponx, all of Port Charlotte; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren; a brother, Marion Jim McDonough of Iowa, and numerous extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents, Chester was preceded in death by a brother, a sister, and a grandson. Funeral services and burial will be held in Marshalltown, Iowa at a later time.
