Chip Liston, 47, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away at home on Friday, July 14.
Services for Chip will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023 starting at 5:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Chip’s name may be directed to his family for a later designation. Those in attendance are encouraged to come in a casual attire. Chip William Liston was born February 15, 1976 in Marshalltown, Iowa. He was the son of Robert “Bart” and Barbara (Donaldson) Liston. He grew up in Albion Iowa and was one of three children in his family. Chip attended school in Marshalltown and graduated from Marshalltown High School in the class of 1994. After high school, Chip attended Marshalltown Community College and was a part of their Tool and Die program.
On April 3, 2004, he was united in marriage to his beautiful bride Lynnette Lockwood in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Together they began a home in Marshalltown and had three children, Lyla, Lynde, and Lucas. Chip began working for Bruin Manufacturing as a Tool and Die Maker. He worked with this company for several years before his current employment, as a Welder with Emerson in Marshalltown the last 12 years.
He was a member of the U.A.W. Local 893 of Marshalltown and in his free time, he loved fishing and hunting, spending time outdoors, and going to his kids’ school and sporting activities.
He is survived by his wife Lynnette Liston; his children, Lyla Ann Liston, Lynde Jeanne Liston, and Lucas Robert Liston; his mother Barbara Liston; his siblings, Shawn (David) Ewaliko and Brent (Shelley) Liston; his mother and father-in-law, Leonard (Linda) Lockwood; sister-in-law, Lauri Lockwood (Christopher Varney); nieces and nephews, Kayla Marr, Ana (Thomas) Lura, Caden Liston, and Hadley Liston; and great nephew Declan Lura.
He is preceded in death by his father Bart Liston; his brother Todd Patrick Liston; and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
