Christina Hand

Christina Hand (64) of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on November 28, 2015 at Grandview Heights Rehab and Healthcare. A memorial service will be held at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home on Saturday, January 2nd, 2016, at 4:00 pm. Memorials may be directed to the family to be designated at a later date. Christina Jo Jackson was born on May 13, 1951 to Joseph and Joyce (Connley) Jackson in Marshalltown, Iowa. She was raised and educated in the area, graduating from the Marshalltown High School. She continued her education at the Marshalltown Community College, graduating with a bachelors in psychology. On March 25, 1988 Christina and Christopher Lee Hand were united in marriage at the Presbyterian Church, in Marshalltown. Together the family made their home in Des Moines, Iowa. The family would later relocate to Missouri, and in 2000, they moved back to Marshalltown. Christina worked as a home health aide for 10 years, and for CIRSI until her retirement. She loved sewing, quilting, spending time with her grandchildren and working in her flower garden. Left to cherish her memory is her husband; Christopher Hand, children; Justin (Tona) Hand, Joshua (Tori) Sprague, Brandon (Chantal) Hand, Michelle (Joseph) Sharp, Kelly (Erik) Adams, sister; Anna Jackson, and 18 grandchildren. In death she rejoins her parents; Joseph and Joyce Jackson, siblings; Glenn Jackson and Carol Galloway.
