Christopher Eugene Neal

October 22, 1958 — January 4, 2018

Christopher Eugene Neal, passed away in the comfort of his home in Conrad Iowa, on Thursday January 4, 2018. Honoring his wishes, he will be cremated with a memorial service held for family in the spring. Condolences and memorial contributions may be directed to his granddaughters at P.O. Box 203 Conrad, Iowa 50621. Christopher was born October 22, 1958 in Leon, Iowa to the parents of Edward Eugene and Mary Lou (Doggett) Neal. He attended high school in Grant City, Missouri. Chris honorably served his country by enlisting in the US Army in 1978. He was stationed in Fort Leavenworth KS, Fort Benning GA and overseas in Germany. Upon his return, he graduated from Indian Hills with a degree in Drafting in 1982. In May 1983 he was united in marriage to Christine Casey. On Feb. 7, 1988 the two welcomed daughter Stephanie Michelle into this world. The two later divorced in 1991. Chris was employed by Pester Derby in Chariton, Iowa where he managed from 1984-1989, was a traveling portrait sales representative for Walmart from 1990-1992, worked for Voltmaster in Corydon, Iowa from 1992-2001 and PSF in Mercer, MO from 2001-2010. In his free time, Chris loved to go hunting and fishing and watching football. He loved to play pool and go to auctions. He always looked forward to weekends with his daughter during her childhood. He was an avid animal lover and enjoyed gardening in his free time.  Left to cherish Chris' memory is his daughter Steph (Casey) Stolzman and grandchildren Mya, Maycee and Mylee of Conrad, Ia. Siblings Kitty (Kenny) Gage of Red Oak, Ia, Kathy (Wayne) White of Garden Grove, Ia, and Gary Neal of Knoxville, Ia, along with his mother, Mary Lou Forsythe of Lineville, Ia. He is proceeded in death by his father Edward and unborn grandchild Quinn Stolzman.
