Christopher Michael Southard, 47, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on Friday, February 28, 2014 at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center. Services will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. A visitation will take place prior to the service at 12:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed towards the family. Chris was born on September 29, 1966 to Loren K Southard and Jerrie McElroy in Iowa City. Chris previously had worked for Contract Services Limited as well as JBS Swift and Company. Chris enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting and watching football; especially the Steelers. Above everything else; Chris enjoyed life and the time he spent with his family and friends. Left to cherish his memory is his mother: Jerrie. Children: Jacob, Devon and Jace Jordan. Step daughter: Farren Jordan. Siblings: Robin Harris, Scott Waage, Brent Southard, Loris Southard, Loren Southard Jr. and Randy Southard. Chris is preceded in death by his father Loren and sister Linda Southard.
