Charles Chuck Lynk, 69, of Marshalltown, died Saturday, May 22, 2010, at MMSC with his wife by his side.Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at New Hope Christian Church. Burial will be at a future date. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the family or New Hope Christian Church. Phone 641-844-1234.Charles Kenneth Lynk was born on August 13, 1940, in Marshalltown. He was the son of Kenneth and Edna (Arthur) Lynk. Chuck graduated from Green Mountain High School in 1958. He then attended MCC and American Institute of Business, graduating in 1986 with a degree in accounting. On January 9, 1965, Chuck married Leora Diestler at Fort Des Moines United Methodist Church in Des Moines. Chuck and Leora lived in the Marshalltown area 45 years. Chuck was employed at Fidelity Savings Bank in Marshalltown, Producers Savings Bank in Green Mountain, and RACOM. He was a member of New Hope Christian Church, AARL, Lions Club past member, and Promise Keepers. He was a state of Iowa handgun champion and a member of the NRA. He enjoyed HAM radio, fishing, hunting, boating, and leading a home fellowship group. He also enjoyed camping, radio-controlled airplanes, and loved WWII memorabilia.Surviving Chuck is his wife, Leora, his brother Dennis (Peggy) Lynk of Marshalltown, and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Glenda and David Trissel of Des Moines. In death he has rejoined his parents.
