Cindy Boehmer, 62, of Marshalltown passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at her home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2017 which would also have been Cindys birthday at 10:30 a.m. at St Henrys Catholic Church in Marshalltown. Visitation will be on Friday, June 16, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service to follow at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration in Cindys name, and that you also come dressed in red for the funeral service to honor this cause. Cindy Jean Shutt was born on June 17, 1954 in Marshalltown to Ron and Betty Paxson Shutt. She graduated Marshalltown High School in 1973. On July 2, 1977, Cindy was united in marriage to Daryl Boehmer in Marshalltown. She was a stay at home mom as well as a teachers aide for children with special needs. Cindy was especially proud of caring for her niece, Emily. Cindy enjoyed bowling, crocheting, cross stitching, reading, going to the casino and playing bingo and especially loved spending time with her three precious grandchildren. Cindy is survived by her husband of almost 40 years, Daryl. Children: Katie (James) Lundberg of Marshalltown, Kevin (Kristen) Boehmer of Marshalltown and Kayla (Derek Elliott) Boehmer of Marshalltown. Grandchildren: Mallory Fowler, Molly Lundberg and Graeden Boehmer as well as one on the way. Siblings: LeAnn (Jim) Trowbridge of Marshalltown, Joni (Jeff) Lewis of Marshalltown and Mark (Kim) Shutt of Marshalltown. She is also survived by her uncle Dennis Paxson, lifelong friend Paula Hazen, sister in law Paula Purvis and her Peekapoo dog Lacy. Cindy is preceded in death by her parents Ron and Betty, mother in law Helen Chambers and father in law Dean Chambers.
