Cindy Eggers

Cindy Eggers, 60, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on June 1, 2019 at the Iowa River Hospice Home with her family at her side.  A Memorial Service will be held for Cindy on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor John Whitehead officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the start of services. Memorials in Cindy’s name may be directed to the family. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Cindy and her family.    Cindy Lee Van Zee was born on September 28, 1958 in Marshalltown, Iowa to parents LeRoy and Irene (Osborn) Van Zee. She grew up attending school in the Marshalltown Community School District up until 11th grade. She moved away from Iowa, living in Missouri and Arkansas for a period of time before moving back to Marshalltown, where she once again called home. She was married to Terry Short for a period of time and they were blessed with two daughters. She later on married Kevin Eggers and remained married until the two separated. Cindy had two daughters Amber and Angeline whom she loved dearly. She was a homemaker.  Cindy wasn’t into many clubs but she did love to bowl and took part in a bowling league. In her free time, she enjoyed to read, crochet, went fishing, spending time with her family and her grandkids, doing crossword puzzles, playing cards, listening to music, and enjoying life. She was a social butterfly. She had a contagious smile all the way up until the end.  Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Amber (Bill Johnson) Van Zee and Angeline (Zach Umbaugh) Short; grandkids: Cassie Brisson, Cody Brisson, Donna Brisson, Brea Brisson, Athea Mae and a grandson on the way Gabriel Lee; her mother, Irene Hilleman; siblings, Carla (Larry) Ruch and Carol (John) Haney; her sister-in-law, Sherry Van Zee; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.    In death, Cindy rejoins her father LeRoy Van Zee; son-in-law Don Brisson; brother Buddy Van Zee; nephew Lennon Ruch, nieces Ananda Beem and Kristi Beem.
