Clarence E. Mann, age 87, longtime Albion area farmer and livestock trucker, passed away with the love of his family surrounding him at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown on Thursday, September 12th.           Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 16th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in the Marietta Cemetery with flag presentation honors by the combined VFW and American Legion Posts of the Marshalltown area. Ph. 641-844-1234.           Born on April 28th, 1932, in Hardin County, Iowa, he was the son of Harry and Lucille (Brown) Mann. He grew up on the family farm ½ mile west of the Marshalltown Airport and graduated from the Albion High School in 1949.           Clarence served our country honorably in the United States Army in the Korean Conflict, assigned to the 3rd Medical Battalion/3rd Infantry Division. After his return, he took up farming beginning in 1954.           On June 14th, 1957, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Sharon K. Zink, of Green Mountain. The couple made their home at Marietta and later purchased their farm at Albion in 1972. Being a man of strong work-ethic, he and Sharon also owned and operated Albion Truck Line from 1983 until 1992, sold Vigortone Pre-Mix starting in 1960 and performed livestock hauling beginning in 1962.           Clarence was a member of the Farm Bureau, Friends Church and Mid-Iowa Antique Power Association. He loved antique tractors and dancing.           Left to cherish his memory are his children: Lawrence (Shirley) of Marshalltown, Merle (Tami) of Oskaloosa and Arlis (Julie) of Marshalltown; nine grandchildren- Eric (Leslie), Robert, Kristi “Krista”, Jon, Jerimiah, Troy, Zac, Logan and Blake; one great-grandson Jake; sisters Leora McKibben and Carolyn (Doug) McKelvey; sister-in-law Phyllis Mann; nine Mann family nieces and nephews; four Zink family nieces and nephews, and his Bickford family.           In heaven, he rejoined his beautiful bride, Sharon, who passed in 1997, granddaughter Brittney in 2008, brother Donald in 2016; brother-in-law Robert McKibben in 2013 and nephew Rich McKibben in 2012.
