Clark "Tom" Peck

Clark “Tom” Peck, also known to his close friends and family as “skinny butt” and “uncle two toes,” passed away on April 28, 2026 at Unity Point Allen Hospital in Waterloo at the age of 69.

Per Tom’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and a family-led celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Tom’s family for a later designation. Clark Thomas Peck was born May 2, 1956 in Iowa City, Iowa. He was the only child born to John Peck and Jo Ann (Stanley) Crisman. Tom grew up in the rural Jasper, Poweshiek and Marshall County areas. In 2004, he moved to Texas where he met the love of his life, Denise Zimmerer. They were united in marriage on March 9, 2019 in McAllen, Texas.

Tom was known to be a jack of all trades. Over the years, he spent time as a truck driver, worked along various construction firms and found a love with carpentry. He spent many years building his own company eventually retiring in 2021 due to health. In 2022, Tom and Denise moved to Iowa and called Le Grand their home. Those who knew Tom knew him to love to tell and play a good joke on people and was always known for the ability to keep you on your toes. Additionally, he enjoyed fishing and hanging out with his friends where he could shoot the breeze.

Those left to remember and cherish his memory are his wife, Denise Peck; his siblings, Karen (Glen) Winter, Vicki Davis, Mike Gould, Duane (Vicki) Hannah and Vic Bennington; brothers-in-law, Jeff Zimmerer, Louis Zimmerer and Michael Zimmerer; numerous nieces and nephews; his best friends, Steve Whitham and Ronnie Fridenberg; and partner in crime Rick Stanley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Peck and Jo Ann Crisman; siblings, Terry Peck, Dennis Beaderstadt, Donna Schwegel, Max Bennington, Barry Bennington; nephew, Jason Beaderstadt and niece Kaitlin Watkins; brother-in-law, Steve Davis; and his furry four-legged companions, Randall, Woody and Schatzie.
