Mr. Clifford Reed, 98, of the Glenwood Place in Marshalltown, died early Tuesday morning, October 28th, at his home while in their loving care, his family and the Iowa River Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 1, at the Albion Presbyterian Church with Pastor Bea Lebuda officatiing. He will be laid to rest in the Marietta Cemetery west of Marshalltown. Visitation will be 5-7:00 p.m. Friday at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. Ph 641-844-1234. Born on July 28th, 1910, in rural Marshall County west of Marshalltown, he was the son of Charles and Emma (Harris) Reed. He received his education in the rural Marshall County schools and later in Marshalltown. On November 8th, 1938, he was united in marriage to Lois Richards at her parents home in rural Albion. The couple farmed west of Marshalltown until moving into town upon retirement in the early 1980s. They later moved to Glenwood Place in August of 2004. They shared 65 years of marriage when she passed away on September 25th, 2004. Clifford had attended the Albion Presbyterian Church and dearly treasured time and events shared with his family. He was a hardworking gentleman who appreciated farming and enjoyed woodworking and latch hook. Left to cherish his memory is his three daughters: Beverly (Charles) Bru of rural Gladbrook, Janet Reed of Marshalltown and Virginia (Roger) Foelske of Indianola, six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren and his family at Glenwood Place. In death he has rejoined his parents, loving wife Lois, sister Mildred Riemenschneider and brother Max who died in infancy
