Clifford E. Boucher

May 5, 1941 — April 17, 2025

Clifford Boucher, age 83, of Gladbrook, Iowa, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 17, 2025.

Clifford Eugene Boucher was born on May 5, 1941, in Marshalltown, Iowa. He was the second child of Arlo Boucher and Elizabeth (Dee) Isenhower. Cliff attended Marshalltown High School and, later in life, earned his GED at the age of 51 from the State of Arizona. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy for four years, living and working aboard the USS Bennington and the USS Coral Sea.

In a story that reflected his deep love and commitment, Cliff once hitchhiked from Seattle to Marshalltown to marry the most beautiful girl he knew. On August 3, 1960, he wed the love of his life, Sharron (Soenksen) Boucher, in Marshalltown.

Cliff dedicated over 23 years to Fisher Controls before transferring to Lennox International, where he worked for another 10 years until his retirement. He attended First Baptist Church.

In his free time, Cliff enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, camping, and golfing in his younger years. He especially loved traveling—whether it was winter trips to South Texas or adventures with his grandchildren. Above all, he was a devoted family man, known for his big heart and generous spirit. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Clifford is survived by his wife of 65 years, Sharron Boucher; his children: Sherry L. (Jeffrey) Reese of Marshalltown, IA, Paula A. Gohring of Blakesburg, IA, Kimberly J. Boucher of Bentonville AR. and Teri S. (Stephen) Vogel of Phoenix, AZ; his 10 grandchildren and 11 great - grandchildren and his siblings: Arlo “Buck” Jr. Boucher of Albion, and Sue Reese of Gladbrook, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arlo and Elizabeth; great granddaughter Oaklynn and his brother Donald Boucher.

In accordance with Cliff’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. A luncheon will follow from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. at the American Legion in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to the family for a later designation.
