Clyde Coulthard

Clyde Coulthard, 81, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and formerly of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.

Memorial services for Clyde will be held on Thursday, May 11 at 1:30 P.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Friends and family are also invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest at the Iowa Veteran’s Cemetery in Van Meter, Iowa on Friday, May 12. Memorials in Clyde’s name may be directed to his family for a later designation. Clyde Clifford Coulthard was born August 22, 1941 in Davis City, Iowa to parents John and Velma (Straight) Coulthard. He was one of six children to them. He attended school in Des Moines, Iowa and graduated from North High in 1959. He furthered his education after graduation.

Clyde enlisted in the United States Navy, where he proudly served for four years until his honorable discharge from service.

On June 10, 1967, Clyde married the sunshine of his life, Charlotte Boston, at the Salem Lutheran Church in Roland, Iowa. Together they called Marshalltown, Iowa home and raised their three children together. Clyde worked at Fisher Controls in Marshalltown as a AA toolmaker before retiring after 32 years of service with the company. As a veteran, Clyde was a member of the Marshalltown American Legion until they moved to Oklahoma City. In his free time, Clyde enjoyed playing golf, woodworking projects and traveling to see his grandchildren. He had a love and admiration for classic street rods. Together, he and Charlotte remodeled a 100 year-old house. Both loved to travel and were blessed to do so.

Those left to remember and cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years, Charlotte Coulthard of Oklahoma City, OK; his children: Lisa Ramsey (Ron Hallaux) of Olathe, KS, Kathy Coulthard of Oklahoma City, OK and Carolyn (Scott) Richardson of Yukon, OK; his grandchildren: Garrett (Becca) Ramsey, Tanner Ramsey, Ella Richardson, Brooks Richardson and Drew Hallaux; and four great-grandchildren: Grady, Emery, Waylon and Remington Ramsey; as well as numerous extended family members, including two sisters-in-law.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Velma Coulthard; his brothers: Dale Coulthard, Almer Coulthard and Hollis Coulthard and his two sisters: Laquita Grinstead and Regina Coulthard.
