Clyde Knoll

Clyde Knoll, 83, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2016, at the Iowa River Hospice Home surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 17, 2016, at St. Henrys Catholic Church in Marshalltown. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with a vigil at 6:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Iowa River Hospice. Clyde Bernerd Knoll was born on June 2, 1933, in Haverhill, Iowa; he was the son of Leonard and Leona (Pille) Knoll. Clyde attended grade school in Haverhill and graduated from Van Cleve High School with the class of 1951. On June 12, 1954, Clyde was united in marriage to Helen Svendsen at St Marys Catholic Church in Marshalltown. They had lived in Marshalltown their entire married lives. Clyde had worked for ACI and Mead Dairy for 13 years before working and retiring from Fisher controls in 1995. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, golfing, hunting, and the outdoors in general. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 62 years, Helen, children, Pamela (Jeff) Hoffman of Marshalltown, Cindy(Randy) Vaughn of Marshalltown, Michael(Robin) Knoll of Newton, grandchildren, Michelle( Keith) Koehn of Cedar Falls, Chris(Greta) Ainsworth of Des Moines, Matt (Stephanie) Ainsworth of Pella, and Kaelee Knoll and Jacob Knoll of Newton, great-grandchildren, Tate and Kaymie Koehn and Lucy and Cora Ainsworth, sister, Arlene(Lester) Stalzer of Haverhill and several nieces and nephews. In death Clyde rejoins his parents, Leonard and Leona, daughter, Lori Knoll, son-in-law, Rick Ainsworth and brother, Earl Knoll.
