Colleen Keese

Colleen May Keese, 89, of Marshalltown, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2017 at Hawkeye Care Center in Marshalltown and under the care of the Iowa River Hospice Home. Memorial services for Colleen will be held on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Green Mountain United Church of Christ. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Colleen and her family. Colleen Lynch was born on May 5, 1928 in Marshall County to Perry Lynch and Ruth Eunice Lowry. She graduated from Green Mountain High School in 1945. On Christmas Eve of 1946, Colleen was united in marriage to Robert Keese at the Chapel Church in rural Gladbrook. Colleen had worked at KFJB in advertising for 26 years before retiring in 1990. She was a member of the Green Mountain United Church of Christ and past President of the Womens Fellowship. Colleen enjoyed bowling, loved playing bingo, jig saw puzzles and followed the Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs. She especially enjoyed following her family and supporting them with any of their activities. Colleen is survived by her children: Mary Lou (Everett) Mills of Hubbard, Roberta Keese of Grimes, Jo (Tim) Ruff of Garwin and Jon (Cindy) Keese of Ankeny. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and her brother Marvin Lynch. Colleen is preceded in death by her husband Robert, parents Perry and Ruth Lynch, sister Betty Lou Lutes and sister in law Betty Jean Lynch.
