Connie Tribby

Connie Tribby, 66, of Melbourne, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 in the comfort of her home under the care of Iowa River Hospice. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Connie was born March 27, 1958 in Marshalltown, Iowa, the only daughter amongst five sons born to Roger and Verlee (Lipper) Bailey. After graduating from Marshalltown High School, she obtained her LPN license. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Clifford “Cliff” Tribby on April 26, 1975. They made their home in Melbourne, Iowa, where they raised their two sons.

Connie was spunky and selfless, a true caretaker in every aspect of her life. She always put the needs of others in front of her own. She dedicated over 30 years in the nursing profession, first at the Marshall County Home and later serving over 22 years at the Iowa Veterans Home, where she worked as a Nursing Unit Coordinator. Known fondly at work as the “Queen Bee” and growing up as the only daughter in her family, she wasn’t afraid to take charge and get things done. She truly loved taking care of her family, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and supporting them at their activities. Connie also enjoyed being outdoors and camping. She believed in living for today and truly lived every moment to the fullest.

Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband of 49 years, Cliff; her two sons: Chris (Kendra) Tribby and Casey Tribby; and four grandchildren: Caeden, Kamaeya, Caeleb and Claeten Tribby; three brothers: Rod Bailey of Marshalltown, Scott Bailey of Melbourne and Mick (Anne) Bailey of Ogden; sisters-in-law: Shirley (Rod) Phillips, Eleanor Murphy and Darla Bailey; brother-in-law Dean (Laura) Tribby; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Connie is preceded in death by her parents Roger and Verlee, infant brother Randy, brother Tracy Bailey, and in-laws Carroll and Fonda Tribby.
